Build your Own Vegetable Cages

  • Product Code: buildyown

{Description}Aluminium Tubing
Build your own vegetable cages with aluminium tubing, build a balls or joiners. Or buy one of our vegetable cage kits

Extensions
The Aluminium 'Extensions' are swaged (5cm) at one end allowing you to join 2 tubes easily reducing the number of balls/joiners required.

1.8m length join 1 x 900mm + 1 x 900 Extension
1.5m length join 1 x 600mm + 1 x 900mm Extension

If you need an exact size for a raised bed and the pole sizes do not suit, go slightly larger then just cut the poles, this is very easy to do.

Please note: We don't recommend going any higher than 1.2m in height with our 16mm aluminium tubes. If you require a taller frame we would recommend looking at our 19mm tubes and connector.

To calculate the netting size: Width = Height x 2 + width - Length = Height x 2 + length

{Joiners/Buildaballs}
Joiners

Simple, easy and more economical. Just push inside the tubing. Ideal for creating garden structures and vegetable cages. The joiners allow for 16mm legs and 13mm crossbars.

Buildaballs

These solid rubber balls are ideal for creating garden cages, plant supports, cloches and many other garden structures with canes or our sturdy aluminium tubing in minutes. Simply push onto a cane or tube into the six holes. One 16mm hole and five 13mm holes.

{Anchors}
Small:
Pointed 23cm (9 inch) long aluminium anchors give added support to hall frames or extra stability where soil is very loose. Push into the soil and drop the uprights (legs) in. Recommended for frames 1.2m erected height or above. 9 inch anchors fit our 16mm tubes which we use for the legs of our cages.

Large:

Required for all our Walk In Cages. Use with our 19mm aluminium

{Extra Info}

Legs
We recommend for stability that legs are pushed into the soil as follows:

600mm - 100mm
900mm - 200mm
1.2m - 300mm
1.5m - 300mm

The easiest way to calculate cage components is to draw it. A double check is to count the number of poles on the drawing against what you are ordering

If you need help, please ask, we can usually work them out the same day but during busy periods there may be a delay.

We always calculate the cheapest way and quite often have saved customers money who have asked us to check their calculations.

Remember you can turn nettings around - if you need a 3m wide and 6m long butterfly netting buy 6m x 3m.
